LITTLE PLANTER BASKET
Materials: 3" Diameter Round Grooved Base, #2 Round Reed, 3/16" Flat Oval Reed, 1/4" Flat Reed
Preparation: Cut 21 spokes from 1/4" Flat Reed at 8" long

Weaving: Arrange evenly around slots in the grooved base with the reed rough side up.

Twine 3 rows with #2 Round Reed.
Turn base over and begin weaving with a long piece of 3/16" Flat Oval Reed, tapered at one end.

Bring sides up gradually and let flare so that it measures approx. 17-1/2" to 18" circumference after 4 or 5 rows.

At 11 or 12 rows, start bringing it in just slightly to measure 17" at the top. Weave a total of 18 rows.

Triple weave 3 rows with #2 Round Reed.

Tuck spokes to inside of basket.
Braid: Cut 21 pieces of #2 Round Reed at 18" long and insert each end up through the twining, skipping a space each time.

Treating each set of two as one, weave behind one and out, all the way around.

Then weave under one and through to the inside, all the way around.

On the inside of the basket, weave ends of braid over two and down.
