MESSAGE FROM THE FOUNDERS

2004

The NorEsta Cane & Reed is a family oriented company founded by Norm and Esther Grigsby. Our business has served you with quality basketmaking and chair seating supplies and support since 1985.

Our daughters, Cris, Jill, and Holly and our sons, Nick and Kurt have all been involved in company operations.  Cris operates the store, teaches classes, and produces the NorEsta line of T-N-E Hand-Dyed Reed.  Jill invented and produces our reed organizers and also teaches, and does chair caning and wicker repair.  Holly assists with our web page design as we provide 24-hour computer support for our business.  Nick helps with maintenance work in the store, and Kurt makes many of our specialty wood parts.  We all work together as a business and family team.

We would like to take this opportunity to express our sincere appreciation and thanks to our friends who have helped us so much.  Whether providing assistance with the many conventions where we vendor, or helping with our classes, or just stopping by regularly to see how we are doing, we are grateful for their friendship and support.

2006: With deep sadness in our hearts, it came to pass that Norm departed this world on August 29. He wil be dearly missed by his family, friends, and the entire community of weavers, as Norm was very much loved, admired, and appreciated by everyone he knew. Cherished will be the memories we all share from the good times we had while he was with us. We grieve his loss now, but we also rejoice in the Lord, for one day we will all be together again.
